Peckvonhartel dinner with ZENITH.

On Thursday 8 December, Zenith Sydney once again was filled with aromas of chorizo tapas; garlic prawns as our Dinner Series, an intimate sit-down dinner with 30 guests, entertained Peckvonhartel from Sydney, Melbourne, Canberra and Brisbane offices. Castanets clicked (sounding more like crickets than anything rhythmical) as Matilde danced flamenco style while we all feasted on Paella. A fun night and for some a very late one…..

ZENITH Adelaide Rumba Xmas...

Zenith Adelaide started the festive season with a Rumba Christmas party on Friday 2nd December to officially launch the Rumba workstation and other new product lines. An impressive turn out - guests were entertained by Brazilian dancers and Latino groove that went well into the night and a Congo line was created through the Zenith showroom which was quite a spectacle . Also a special tribute to Laurie Argent as he steps down from the State Manager’s role and hands over to Michael Bond who will be starting in January 2012.

Flight D4W-Z Takes Off!

Design4Work celebrated the launch of their business partner, Zenith Interiors, in the South Island last night with a fun filled evening. The theme for the night was Zenith, but with a Design4Work twist. With Zenith meaning "the point of culmination; the greatest height; the point of the heavens directly overhead", Design4Work chose to take their clients of a Rocket Ride, a flight to a new dimension of innovative workspace solutions - Flight D4W-Z! The staff were dressed for the occasion in either a Captains outfit or Airhostess outfits, while the guests sipped on champaign, perused the new items on offer and were entertained by the band 'Almost Famous'.

Zenith WA Rumba Launch...

Zenith WA celebrated the official launch of the Rumba Workstation in their Perth showroom with a Brazilian extravaganza. ZENITH also showcased more amazing new products: Sancal ; Sean Dix; Haven by Allermuir; Glass Collection by Keith Melbourne and Buzzispace. Guests were entertained by “LC Salsa” band, Brazilian BBQ, and the moves of glittery rhythmical Brazilian dancers.

Zenith SA Saturday @ Design

It was 33 degrees outside but inside Zenith was a cool scene with lawn bowls, Pimms on ice, lamingtons, trifle, and cucumber sandwiches. Zenith staff dressed in their whites challenged all those who entered to spot of bowls on the green. Some were very good at it and took away Keith Melbourne’s Glass Collection stools as prizes. There was a lucky draw Lena Fenwick of Fenwick Design won a Be chair, Nicole Weckert from Swanbury Penglase & Danielle Steirgiou from 2C Design won a stool from Keith Melbourne’s Glass Collection.

Zenith Melbourne Cup @ Cafe Sydney 2011

For the 5th year in a row ZENITH celebrated Melbourne Cup with over 50 guests enjoying spectacular harbour views from Café Sydney on the rooftop of Customs House. This didn’t detract from the colour, the millinery, the towering platform shoes, beautiful ensembles like a vision from the 1950s parading around the cocktail lounge and restaurant. There were prizes galore; several of our guests took away lucky door prizes and Grace Tham from Hassell Architects won Flamboyant Filly (Best Dressed Female) with a weekend away at boutique hotel & Manfredi restaurant, Bells at Killare. Chatter, laughter and cocktails flowed well after the race and into the early evening. A fun day enjoyed by all.

Zentih Melbourne Cup @ ACT Thoroughbred Park

It was a superb day celebrated in style at this year’s Melbourne Cup as Zenith partnered with ISIS to host a garden party of 30 at Canberra’s Thoroughbred Park. Sensational spring weather set a picturesque backdrop for bright bursts of colour with fashions on the field. The atmosphere grew tense, as we all held our breath to see Dunaden win by a nose, followed by cheers of excitement from a victorious few!

Zenith QLD Halloween Launch

When witches go riding, and black cats are seen, the moon laughs and whispers, ‘Tis near Halloween…..” There were witches, warlocks, and vampires too, a visit from Harry Potter, the Joker and Snow White too. All gathered and watched ghouls rise from the grave as they danced to Thriller in the dead of night and helped us celebrate the launch of the new Zenith showroom in Brisbane……..

Zenith Dinner Series- Sydney

On Thursday 20 October the Sydney showroom was transformed. Red carnations, candles, waitresses in Flamenco dresses, flamboyant and colourful, reflecting the passionate Spanish culture that set the scene for the first Zenith ‘Dinner Series’. An intimate atmosphere with thirty guests, Sangria that went down too easily and delicious traditional seafood Paella was enjoyed by all. The highlight was smashing open the Piñata. Zenith looks forward to rolling out the Dinner series around the country in 2012!

PROPERTY COUNCIL GOLF DAY @ THE FEDERAL GOLF CLUB

Canberra put on some superb weather for the Property Council’s (ACT) NDH Property Services 2011 Golf Classic. More than 100 players enjoyed the spectacular surrounds at the Federal Golf Club and treated themselves to the goodies at the tenth hole sponsored by ZENITH. Donuts, hot dogs and cold drinks served up by the Canberra team throughout the day were a big hit with the hungry golfers. After all of the teams had completed the 18 holes, the prizes were announced for the day’s winners. IA Group came first place for the day and took home the award winning BE Chair for their efforts. A fun day was had by all!

Zenith Sponsors Uni of SA Interior Design Students

The Adelaide office of Zenith recently held a function in their showroom for 40 final year Interior Design students and lecturers. Zenith has sponsored an award during the past 5 years for the most outstanding work. This year’s winner was Margrethe Johannsen. Lucinda Martin received a certificate of commendation. A previous recipient of the award, Emma Smith now working for Woods Bagot, was the special guest. Emma spoke briefly to the students about her transition into the industry after graduating which was well received. Following the formalities, the function continued for some hours as the students enjoyed some light relief from their final 5 weeks of study.

Thanks for visiting our new Sydney showroom at this year’s Saturday in Design. We hope you enjoyed our new collection of products for interactive, collaborative, social and brainstorming activities! Congratulations to Bella Pescia of Woodhead, winner of our prize, a trip to ORGATEC 2012! We started SID’11 with Friday night drinks to celebrate the opening of our new Sydney showroom. We welcomed over 300 guests who turned up despite the windy, stormy weather for some risotto and wood fired pizza. It was all hands on deck when the crowds and buses started to roll in at 10am to view the launch of Zenith’s new collections and showroom.

ZENITH NZ Launch Parties in Wellington & Auckland

ZENITH celebrated the opening of their new New Zealand operation with the launch of their Wellington and Auckland showroom’s last week. Guests arrived adorned in their Best Top Hat and Tiara and were treated to cocktails and entertained by the CANDY LANE DANCER’S as they strolled around the showroom’s admiring ZENITH'S collection of Local and International commercial furniture. These included the iconic kiwi brand FORMWAY, ALLERMUIR from the UK, BUZZISPACE from Belgium and ZENITH’S new RUMBA Workstation collection.

TOP 5x5 ZENITH Melbourne DIA Night

ZENITH Melbourne hosted The Design Institute of Australia's Top 10x10 series, a fast paced, informative, showroom based forum that attracts over 200 commercial interior and other design professionals as well as those with a passion for design each year. This session, Top 5x5 – Colour had 5 industry luminaries talking about a colour of their choice and how it has been used in their work and that of other designers. Debbie Lyn Ryan a principal of McBride Charles Ryan presented the colour RED. Pascale Gomes-McNabb the creative force behind iconic Melbourne restaurants Cumulus presented the 'all or nothing' colour BLACK. Ian Wong an Industrial Designer, Educator and Researcher presented ORANGE. Michaela Webb the Creative Director of graphic company Round focused on Yves Klein BLUE. Beci Orpin a textile designer chose YELLOW for her presentation.

ZENITH ACT Rumba Fiesta...

Zenith launched our new Rumba Workstation with a Cuban Fiesta party in the Canberra showroom on Thursday 7th April. Guests were entertained to the rhythm and beat of “Mi Tierra” a 7 piece Cuban band, a Brazilian barbeque, margaritas and salsa dancers, who added spice and groove to the night.

Zenith LET IT BE...XMAS Brisbane

Despite the torrential rain in Brisbane, over 150 guests from the design community opened their umbrellas and made it to the LET IT BE...XMAS launch for Formway’s new BE chair. Mark Pennington from Formway NZ inspired the guests with his design philosophy whilst the BEATLEGS performed live a full repertoire of Beatles songs...and there were a few rockers who got into the spirit!!

Keith Melbourne Seminar @ ZENITH ACT

Zenith Canberra hosted Keith Melbourne’s design seminar last month attended by a distinct group of local architects and designers. Keith presented the design philosophy behind our new Ellis collection exploring form and shape through a process of design, C.A.D., modelling and some welcomed accidents. Zenith Keith brought a long a few of these models to show his design process and how these forms came to life. Everyone loved the KM and Z cupcakes take home gift!

Zenith Sydney celebrates Melbourne Cup 2010

ZENITH Sydney celebrated their annual Melbourne Cup event at Cafe Sydney this year....fun, fashion, horses and Champagne. This year’s event was hosted by MC Corinne Grant whose quick wit and humour entertained the guests and awarded prizes throughout the day. Congratulations to Dianne D'Alessandro from Hassell who won BEST DRESSED for her gorgeous outfit. We hope she enjoys her prize which was a weekend for two at the new luxurious Emirates Wolgan Valley Resort Spa!

Zenith launch Be Chair by Formway...

Let It Be’ is the theme for Zenith’s national launch of the award winning BE chair by Formway. On 20th October, over 200 guests from the design community were treated to a night out at Sydney’s Arthouse Hotel with a Beatles theme, which included a live performance from The Beatles cover band The Beatnix. A big thank you to Ed Burak one of the leading designers of the Be chair for his insightful presentation on the Philosophy of the Be chair.

The food complimented our B theme...with burgers and bratwurst....B Boy Don dancing and of course Beatles music! Our international guest Kent Parker from Formway NZ (design team for the new Be chair) officiated the evening. SATURDAY The buses and guests arrived and Saturday In design ‘10 was in full swing by 9am. It was great to watch everyone swooning around on the Be chairs! Making their way up to level 2 where we launched our new LUNAR workstations with B BOY DON dancing to the Beatles WE CAN WORK IT OUT. On the top level we launched the Charles Wilson collection, LOTTUS collection from Enea Spain, Toga lounge chair, Fleur chairs, Casper Beam and Zenith side chairs from Allermuir. All this was complimented by our new Ellis collection, WB stools & tables, Boxa stools and Stone stools. Those who reached the final sin enjoyed Ed Dixons gigantic brownie BE HUNGRY...and not a skerrick was left!! And finally Kent Parkers talk was amazing at 4pm....before we opened the bar!

Keith Melbourne seminars @ Zenith

Keith Melbourne launched his first series of design seminars in ZENITH Melbourne and Sydney this month. The seminars are traveling around the country over the next 2 months. Presenting to small intimate groups of 25 designers and architects, Keith talks about his latest product called ELLIS which he designed for ZENITH exploring form and shape through a process of design, C.A.D., modeling and some welcomed accidents. The Ellis collection is defined by beautiful flowing continuous lines. The pieces are geometric yet also soft and inviting. Visually complex objects with sensual tactile appeal. The shells are supported on uncomplicated tubular steel frames, with characteristically large bend and diverging rails. Compact yet comfortable, the seating elements are further enhanced by the precise tailored details of their covers. Designed to complement the seating, there is a side table and coffee table. Lilla and Emily can be nested and arranged in groupings where they overlap allowing interplay between their forms. The Ellis collection is designed and manufactured to meet environmental certification. All frames on the seating are produced in linished stainless steel, with the option of black or white powder coat finish on the tables. The seating can be upholstered in just about any contract fabric or leather..a degree of stretch in the fabric is required.

ZENITH arrives in ADELAIDE

ZENITH added another notch to their carefully planned national strategy on May 12th when Urban Culture became ZENITH. The Adelaide design community was treated to a “street party” and a night of hip hop and rap dancing. On arrival guests were presented with street caps, and tattoos to help create the mood as they walked through a tunnel with art commissioned by the “ever so hip” local graffiti artist Joel Moore aka PASSAGE 33. Rap dancers entertained the crowd with a finale by B-BOY Don (this seasons finalist in So You Think You Can Dance) taking to the floor with his impressive acrobatic moves …keeping the party alive and hopping until late!

Zenith Melbourne Showroom Launch Party

Zenith’s national strategy received another boost this week with the opening of our new 850 sqm Melbourne showroom created by Hassell over three levels at 179 Flinders Lane. Over 400 people adorned with their favourite version of a TOP HAT attended the event. The Dan Hamill ensemble swooned guests on arrival and the top hat dancers entertained guests as they networked and partied throughout the evening. Best male top hat selected by Jan Henderson of Inside magazine awarded to Shane Wintershoven from Varc , Best female top hat selected by Richard Byrne of Indesign magazine awarded to Kim Beenck from Gray Puksand, and the best corporate top hat selected by Cameron Bruhn of Artichoke went to Clarke Hopkins Clarke for their innovative design, recycling the ZENITH Melbourne opening invite as their hats.

ZENITH Melbourne Cup @ Cafe Sydney

It was all hat's and heels for Zenith Sydney's annual Melbourne Cup celebration at Cafe Sydney this year. The warm weather did not prevent guests from enjoying an action packed day of eating, drinking and prizes!! Deborah Hutton the events MC awarded prizes to various Zenith guests. Best shoe prize won by Madelana DeBarrous from Hassell with her gorgeous black and white stilettos. Other prize winners included Steve Fitts & Marissa Byron of PTID. ZENITH Canberra celebrates spring!!!

Zenith Canberra celebrated spring this year by inviting local architects and designers to join them for a lunch time 'picnic in the park'. Each day a different design firm met the Zenith team in their local park and were greeted by the latest new 'outdoor collection' from EMU, Enea, Allermuir chairs as they feted on a picnic lunch around the new Zenith Stiletto tables. A nice way to breathe some fresh air and sample some great new furniture!

Zenith hosts Retail Institute evening.

Over 80 Retail Design Institute Members and guests including architects, retail and store designers, graphic designers, lighting designers, brand strategists, trade partners and suppliers to the retail industry came along to hear Brian Gorman (Regional Manager - National Retail Design) speak about Westfield's plans for the new city precinct. Westfield Sydney, the new epicentre of the Sydney CBD; A carefully curated collection of fashion, food and services, looks set to change the way shoppers think about the heart of the city. The design of this world retail icon combines the talent of local and overseas designers and will result in a truly inspiring retail environment. From urban to luxury, a brilliant array of retail brands will provide the leading light for Australian retail.

ARTICHOKE night school event

Zenith Sydney opened their showroom to host Artichokes 2nd night school attended by over 130 designers and architects. Guests arrived and were treated to ZENITH snack packs and a glass wine as they listened and participated in discussions around three themes 'designing for one', 'when the classroom grows out of one space' and 'how one person can create a community' Facilitated by the editor of Artichoke magazine Kate Rhodes, guest speakers included Chris Bosse one of the founding directors of LAVA, Annabel Lahz co director of Lahz Nimmo architects and Dan Hill senior consultant for Arup.

Saturday in design

To celebrate the launch of the new Stiletto modular table system, Zenith collaborated with Hassell in this years Project 09 to creat a Barbie House!!. The new Stiletto leg system, created by the Zenith Design team was inspired by the iconic 1959 barbie doll leg. The event was a huge success with all of our participants (and many of their children) enjoying the Barbie Doll House experience, whilst seeing how the Stiletto table can be used creatively in any interior.

Zenith Canberra Launch Party

There was much exCITEment as Canberra celebrated the metamorphisis of CITE into ZENITH. Guests partied into the night, spurred on by plenty of food, drinks and entertained by a few special guests of the dancing variety ( So You Think Can You Dance contestants).

On March 5th ZENITH launched their new Sydney showroom and corporate identity. Over 250 guests attended the event which also unveiled the new loose furniture collection from Allermuir, KeZu and Woodmark.
